Trip update

It’s me David Jr. Signing in on the blog. Germany is great, the scenery is breath-taking and I can’t get enough pictures and video recordings with the camera. Girls here in Germany are hotter than American girls. I must have seen hundreds of hot girls today. The food is good here too. I love every second of being in the wonderful country. ESL is something I definitely will focus on so I can travel the world and live in places like Wiesbaden, Germany.
I have also decided that this summer I’m coming back. www.helpx.net will provide a way for me to be here for a long time and spend very little money. No one can talk me out of this, I’m sure of it. I’m willing to sell my video games, etc. So I can afford the plane ticket.
I’m sitting in the hotel while writing this. The simplicity of everything here makes mediocre tasks like bathing more fun. In the hotel is a giant dog. While on all fours his back almost reaches my waist. It’s crazy, just a giant black dog lying around a small hotel. Also, according to Dad, we are staying in the same room he and Korina stayed in.
Signing in again, it’s me David Jr. updating the blog. Its 2 o’clock in the morning here and my bed broke. I jumped up on my bed to reach the window and open it. After opening it I pulled my knees out from under me and fell on the bed thinking, “it’s a bed, no problem.” BAM the whole bed hit the ground, and then followed a loud crack. Before I knew my head was level with my nightstand. Now I’m sleeping on my bed that rests on the floor inside the frame.
Germany is really different from America. Besides there being no English written or spoken anywhere in Wiesbaden, so much of this place is different. I remember Samantha Brown on Passport to Europe on the Travel Channel saying, “Even if you have just eaten a big meal, the smell of restaurants and bakeries throughout town always make you hungry for more.” This is true. We ate lunch and as we walked out of the restaurant a mouth-watering aroma filled my nose from across the street at a place called, “Disches.” We haven’t eaten there yet, but before we go on to France we will go there.
Something else I noticed here are all the mopeds. I knew Mopeds were popular in Europe, but didn’t think I would see about three mopeds on each street. Whenever I get my Moped paid off I’ll bring it here. I’ll need an International Driver’s License first.
I was worried the food here wouldn’t be all that good. I have loved everything I’ve eaten so far. Croissants are great; I always look for them whenever we go somewhere to eat. In the morning the woman who works here will make us breakfast. I can’t wait for that.
Soda here is different too. The bottles have cool shapes and the drinks taste different than American versions. I had a Fanta Orange, which is a European drink, but it’s sold in America. The taste was better than America’s. We bought four bottles of Fanta and almost all of them are gone.
Tomorrow we go to the market. I can’t wait to see all the different things for sale. I’ll get all the pictures and videos I can of Market Square.

Signing in again, we went to the Market Square; there were tons of people selling hundreds of items. Fruits, vegetables, plants, baked goods, and some toys were everywhere laid out on stalls for us to see, but not touch.
After the Market we went to Mainz, a college town across the Rhine River where we visited a massive cathedral named: Mainzer Dome. People were also in the Square outside the church, selling goods. We ate Pizza Hut for lunch, the food tasted different compared to American Pizza Hut.
When we were done eating, we went to karstadt and Kaufhauf. Both giant stores selling food, clothes, toys, etc. We are still hunting for allergy medicine for Daniel, but he’ll live. When we left Mainz, we rode on a bus pushed by a trailer section, it was pretty cool.
When we got back to Wiesbaden we went to an apartment to visit some people who were best friends with my Great Grandmother. They were so excited we were coming that they probably cleaned the house from one end to the other ten times. They had coffee and lots of deserts to eat on a table when we got there. They loved having us there. Everyone laughed and had fun. When we left they stood on their balcony waving until we couldn’t see them anymore. They cried a few times, they were so happy.
Later we went to the Train Station where Dad found out our schedule and travel plans had to be changed. We will be staying in Zurich instead of Cologne. I’m so excited; we will be staying in the Alps, the beautiful scenery of The Sound of Music.
While at the train station I ordered food by myself for the first time. I got what I wanted with no difficulty.
Well, that’s it for now. I’ll have more later…Bye

Our Trip To Germany

Well, we are sitting in the Corpus Christi Airport. Our flight leaves at 12:15, so while we wait we are hanging out. I'm David, I'm 21 years old and this is my first trip to another continent. What awaits me on the other side of this long plane ride I metaphorically refer to as a "mountain." Something i must get through to reach my destination...Europe. We will be visiting Germany, France, and Austria. I wish we had more than a week to spend in Europe. Had we two extra days I would suggest we visit the U.K. while visiting Western Europe.

I have stated on my facebook that I feel I will come back to America a different person. The world is a vast and wonderous place, why would anyone spend their lives in front of a video game instead of travel. I had the option to bring a Nintendo DS(hand-held video game). I refused, I want to concentrate on every passing second of this trip, not on a video game.

We will be visiting the Black Forest in Germany. I've only seen pictures of this forest, but from what I've seen, the scenery will be beautiful.

I will be posting a video diary at the end of the trip. It will be on Youtube, just search my screen name: CDBigShow
It won't be on until I've edited and compiled the videos.

This is all for now, the next blog update will be in Europe.

Just Created

A Picture of Munich (München)

Well, for all of you who would like to know, I just created this blog page for dad. You know those older generations don't know much about this tech savy stuff. It's nice for dad to need something from me for a change. Dad, David and Daniel are about to embark on a once in a life time (well, for the boys) trip to Germany. Oh, how I remember those days 10 years ago... It seems like yesterday when Dad and I were putting our Cokes on the window ledge of the bed and breakfast because we didn't have ice and it was freezing outside. It seems like yesterday that we were riding the Eurotrain to Munich, stepping out into the rain, and running into the doors of the oldest and most beautiful cathedral in the world. Or the time when dad and I got locked in a castle and he recited the scripture about the camel and the eye of a needle Mathew 19:24, and we escaped through the small castle door. What was really amazing is that we were with other Americans from Dallas! The Lord works in mysterious ways. I remember the Opera like it was yesterday. It's funny how you can sit and listen for hours to people speaking and singing another language and understand every word. So yes, this will be a trip of a lifetime for those boys and create memories that will last many years. Who knows maybe they will take their children someday. So for the boys, as you head out on your big adventure with dad, take lots of pictures, keep blogging, and remember every moment that "das ist good".
Love Always, Korina
P.S. Drink lots of coke and only fill it to the line! (You will figure it out)
